Eldest son of Phillip Arthur Buggle, Plant Manager of the Thompson Wonderheel Boot Factory in Manchester and Beatrice Teasdale, Choir Director at St. Elphins in Warrington. While growing up Nebs spent most of his time hanging around the network of canals in and around Warrington, dreaming of the day when he would pilot his own barge.

One day, while running an errand for Bea, he stumbled into his Uncle Gavin's Pub, The Barley Mow...a Buggle family establishment for over 400 years...and encountered live skiffle for the first time.

The energy of the music took hold and at that moment, the canal system lost a future pilot. Soon Nebs found every opportunity to drop in at the Pub and began to learn from the constant stream of performers playing at "The Mow".

A few years later Nebs and Reg attended the infamous dance at the Harrow School outside London. The Boddingtons with Reg, Nebs, Jay Gerlingham (Filthy McNasty), and Theodore Ulster formed shortly thereafter and Nebs subsequently transferred to Harrow.

Upon returning home for the summer holiday, Uncle Gavin offered the Boddingtons their first gig on a Monday night at the pub for tips. After the show Gavin suggested that the lads to go back to school, work hard, and another opportunity would await them at The Mow for the Christmas holiday.

Sadly, Teddy left Harrow unexpectedly prior to the fall term. A replacement was found in Maserati Vancouver and the ifs were born.
